AVID Program
Sponsorship of AVID Tours — This program partners with the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program in our local high schools to cover the cost of transporting interested students to Arizona State University (ASU), Northern Arizona University (NAU), and to East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) for the purpose of touring the campuses. The tours are an interactive way to expose students to continued and higher education opportunities.

Larry Thomas Youth Development partnered for the 2nd Annual tour with Mountain Pointe High School's AVID program to promote students' forward-thinking about their future by visiting Northern Arizona University. Nearly 50 students took the trip to Flagstaff where they learned about the school, its programs, and experienced eating at one of the campus cafeterias.
