Positive Impact in the Tempe Community | August 2024
Thanks to Larry Thomas Youth Development donations, Tempe Councilmember Berdetta Hodge delivered nearly 300 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to each high school in the Tempe Union High School District. Councilmember Hodge delivered another bundle of backpacks with supplies and critical items to Curry Elementary School, an institution near and dear to Berdetta’s heart because her sons, Jevin and Jaxon, matriculated from there! Thank you to Tempe Elementary School District for working with Berdetta on this donation!
What an incredible partnership and a powerful way to start the academic year. Thank you for all you do, Berdetta! Good luck to all Berdetta's students. We hope you all achieve your goals!

We are thrilled to announce our Kyrene de la Colina Elementary School Backpack Giveaway!
Our special guest, the legendary A.C. Green—the greatest of all time—(former professional basketball player who played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat ) assisted us in handing out backpacks to these amazing elementary students!

Our 2nd Annual Backpack Drive was a huge success! Thank you to all those wonderful family and friends that donated. The back packs were FILLED with school supplies. Because of you 150 kids at Kyrene de la Colina Elementary School will have the materials they need to start school. Because of you, the principle said she wouldn’t have to use her own money to buy supplies for these kids. Because of you, these kids can hold their heads up on their first day of school and NOT be embarrassed because they don't have what other kids have.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for giving and donating supplies to this event! Our hearts are full to see the difference we have made! Lets’s make it even bigger in 2022! Start saving along with us!
